Trump: We Will Immediately Begin the Siege of the Strait of Hormuz
SadaNews - President Donald Trump stated today, Sunday, that Washington will immediately begin to siege the Strait of Hormuz, and will intercept any ship in international waters that has paid fees to Iran, indicating that they will commence the process of besieging all vessels attempting to enter or exit the strait.
He added - in a post on his Truth Social platform - that the U.S. Navy will begin destroying the mines planted by the Iranians in the Strait of Hormuz, according to his claims, noting that they will "send any Iranian who fires upon them during the mine removal to hell."
Trump stated that other countries will play a role in this siege, without naming them, emphasizing that he will not allow Iran "to profit from imposing illegal passage fees," which he described as extortion.
This announcement from the American president came after the U.S.-Iranian negotiations in Islamabad stalled following nearly 20 hours of intense discussions.
