Pakistan's Defense Minister Deletes Tweet Calling Israel a "Wickedness and a Curse"

SadaNews Translation - Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif was forced to delete a tweet late Thursday to Friday in which he severely criticized Israel for its approach and behavior and its ongoing attacks on Lebanon, which was supposed to be included in the ceasefire with Iran.

Asif wrote on Thursday evening on his account on the platform "X" that "Israel is a wickedness and a curse upon humanity... while peace talks are taking place in Islamabad, genocide is being committed in Lebanon."

He added, "Innocent citizens are being killed by Israel first in Gaza, then in Iran, and now in Lebanon," pointing out that the bloodshed continues unabated.

Asif stated: "I pray that those who established this cancerous state on Palestinian land to rid themselves of European Jews burn in hell and be punished severely."

According to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper on Friday, Asif was compelled to delete this tweet after Israel expressed outrage over it.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the Pakistan Defense Minister's call to destroy Israel is shameful, and these remarks are unacceptable from any country, especially when they come from a country participating in negotiation tracks and claiming to be a neutral mediator for peace, according to a statement from his office, as translated by SadaNews.

Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar considered the Pakistan Defense Minister's tweet as a "call for the extermination of Israel."

Sa'ar said: "These are clearly blood libels that are anti-Semitic... describing the Jewish state as a cancer is, in fact, a call for its destruction... Israel will defend itself against the terrorists who pledge to destroy it."
