Large Numbers of Martyrs and Injured in Intensive Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon
SadaNews - A large number of Lebanese were martyred and injured today, Wednesday, due to intensive Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburb of Beirut, the city of Tyre, and several other towns in the south and Bekaa in eastern Lebanon, at a time when Tel Aviv announced that the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran does not include Lebanon.
Three Lebanese sources close to Hezbollah stated that the latter committed to the ceasefire in the early hours of this morning despite the ongoing Israeli attacks, and pointed out that the party will announce its official position regarding the ceasefire and its response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's confirmation that Lebanon is not included in the agreement.
This morning, Wednesday, the Israeli army warned of evacuating 7 neighborhoods in the southern suburb of Beirut in preparation for an attack, namely: Haret Hreik, Ghobairi, Lilaki, Hadath, Burj al-Barajneh, Tahwita al-Ghadir, and Shiyah. Additionally, it warned Lebanese residents living south of the Zahrani River to evacuate their homes immediately and move towards the north of the river. In the last 24 hours, a series of air and artillery strikes targeted 66 areas in southern Lebanon, resulting in the martyrdom of 8 individuals and injuring at least 22 others.
In this context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the two-week ceasefire agreement "does not include Lebanon," in stark contradiction to a previous statement by Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who said that the truce covers "every place including Lebanon."
