Vance: An Agreement with Iran is Possible on the Condition of Negotiating in 'Good Faith'

SadaNews - U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated on Wednesday that it is possible to reach an agreement to end the war in the Middle East, provided Iran shows readiness to negotiate in good faith.

Vance continued during a visit to Hungary: "The President of the United States told me and the entire negotiating team... go and work in good faith to reach an agreement."

He added: "This is what he told us to do. If the Iranians are willing to work with us in good faith, I believe we can reach an agreement."

Earlier on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced his approval to stop bombing Iran and launching attacks on it for two weeks.

Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social account: "Based on the conversations I had with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Marshal Aasim Munir from Pakistan, who asked me not to use destructive force tonight in Iran, and on the condition that Iran agrees to the full, immediate, and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for two weeks."

He emphasized that "this will be a ceasefire from both sides," adding: "We received a 10-point proposal from Iran and believe it is a practical basis for negotiation."

He continued: "We have made significant progress towards reaching a final agreement for a long-term peace with Iran."
