Iraqji: Iran Agreed to Open the Strait of Hormuz

SadaNews - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqji announced on Wednesday that Iran has agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz.

Iraqji confirmed that "safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz is available for two weeks in coordination with the Iranian armed forces".

The Iranian Foreign Minister pledged that his country "will stop the attacks if the attacks against us cease".

Iranian state media reported from the Supreme National Security Council that negotiations with the United States will begin on Friday, April 10, in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, after Tehran presented a 10-point proposal to Washington via Pakistan, adding that the talks do not signify the end of the war.

Iran clarified that the talks, which may last up to 15 days and could be agreed upon for extension, aim to finalize the details of the proposal, which includes provisions regarding the passage through the Strait of Hormuz, lifting sanctions, and the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from regional bases.

The Iranian Supreme National Security Council revealed that the 10-point proposal presented to America includes acceptance of the uranium enrichment program.

Iran disclosed that the mentioned proposal includes "lifting all primary and secondary sanctions, paying full compensation to Tehran, and releasing all of its frozen assets".

At the same time, the Iranian Supreme National Security Council warned: "Our fingers are on the trigger, and as soon as the enemy makes the slightest mistake, we will respond with full force".

The Iranian National Security Council stated in a declaration that Iran has achieved a "victory" in the five-week war with the United States and Israel, congratulating the Iranian people on what it described as their steadfastness and defiance.

The statement added that the United States agreed to all the items of the Iranian 10-point peace plan, including providing guarantees of not attacking Iran, acknowledging Tehran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, and compensating it for financial losses, according to the "New York Times".

The council stated: "We congratulate the Iranian people on this victory, and reaffirm that until the final details of the victory are completed, officials and the people must remain united and steadfast".

In contrast, President Donald Trump's message on the "Truth Social" platform only indicated his willingness to discuss the Iranian proposal, without confirming his acceptance of all its items.

Additionally, Axios reported from a White House official that the ceasefire in the war with Iran will take effect when Tehran opens the Strait of Hormuz, following President Trump’s post on social media stating that he would stop bombing Iran for two weeks.
