Airstrikes on Beirut and Hezbollah announces targeting of an Israeli warship

SadaNews - Several Lebanese martyrs and injuries were reported today, Sunday, due to airstrikes carried out by Israeli aircraft on the southern outskirts of Beirut. A medical source reported that one of the strikes occurred in a densely populated residential neighborhood, just about 100 meters away from Rafik Hariri University Hospital, the largest public hospital in Lebanon, located in the Janah area.

In response, Hezbollah announced, through successive statements, the targeting of an Israeli warship off the Lebanese coast, in addition to gatherings of soldiers and vehicles of the Israeli army in the towns of Bayyada, Ainata, and the Sidar area, along with the vicinity of the Ma'aliya settlement. They also announced the targeting of the Zahrani barracks with a swarm of kamikaze drones, as part of their retaliation against the ongoing airstrikes.

Wide areas in Lebanon witnessed a series of intense airstrikes targeting the southern suburbs, as well as the towns of Kfardounin, Batoulieh, Shahabiya, Ain Baal, Kfoura, Siddiqin, and Wadi al-Hujeir. The town of Kfarhatta in the Saida district was subjected to more than six airstrikes, resulting in the martyrdom of one person and injuries to others, in addition to extensive material damages.

On the ground, the Israeli army warned those present in neighborhoods of the southern suburbs of Beirut and around the Masnaa crossing on the Lebanese-Syrian border to evacuate in preparation for bombing, claiming it was being used "for military purposes." Lebanese authorities began evacuating the crossing and organizing truck movements, alongside suspending passage from the Syrian side as a precautionary measure.

These developments were accompanied by additional airstrikes in southern Lebanon, including targeting the city of Tyre and towns in Nabatieh and Western Beqaa, amidst ongoing Israeli ground incursions. The displacement from targeted areas continues, amid reports of human losses and extensive damage to infrastructure and vital facilities.
