Revolutionary Guard Threatens.. "The Strait of Hormuz Will Not Be Opened to Enemies"
SadaNews - As the war enters its 33rd day, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard reaffirmed that the strategic Strait of Hormuz will remain closed to the "enemies" of the country, at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he will not consider a ceasefire unless it is reopened. The Revolutionary Guard said, "The situation in the Strait of Hormuz is under the complete control of the naval forces affiliated with the Guard."
It added in a statement broadcast by state television on Wednesday that it "will not be opened to the enemies" of Iran.
Iran and Oman
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized that "Iran and Oman will determine the future of the Strait of Hormuz," referring to the two countries being the overseers on either side of the narrow maritime passage.
Additionally, the Revolutionary Guard claimed that it launched several drones towards the U.S. aircraft carrier "Abraham Lincoln" in the northern Indian Ocean, forcing it to change its position.
It also indicated that "according to available data and satellite images, the group has left its previous location and retreated into the depths of the Indian Ocean."
"Stone Age"
These statements came after Trump threatened earlier today to continue bombing Iran until it brings it back to the "Stone Age" if the strait is not opened, in his words.
It is worth noting that the U.S. president had given Tehran until April 6 to reach an agreement, while several countries, including Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt, worked to reduce tensions.
The Iranian side reiterated its demand for a final solution that guarantees the non-recurrence of war and "aggressions," and stressed multiple times that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, through which five shipments of oil and gas globally pass, will not return to what it was before.
Since the outbreak of the war on February 28, between Iran and Israel and America, maritime navigation in Hormuz has been paralyzed, and dozens of ships have stopped due to Iranian threats, leading to a rise in global oil and gas prices.
