The Occupation Army Announces the Foiling of Weapon Smuggling from Egypt
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation army announced on Wednesday that it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons into Israel "through the western border" with Egypt, after detecting a drone that it claimed was carrying combat equipment.
The army stated in a statement that its forces "thwarted a smuggling attempt of ten long weapons," after detecting a drone that "breached from the west into Israel" as part of a weapons smuggling attempt.
It added that its monitoring units, along with the aerial surveillance system, tracked the drone's flight path, before the forces intercepted it during patrol operations in the "Baran" district.
The statement noted that the intercepted drone was carrying "ten long weapons," without providing additional details about their source or the party behind the smuggling attempt.
It pointed out that the seized weapons were transferred to the relevant security authorities "for further processing," according to its statement.
