Teachers' Union Announces General Strike Tomorrow in Rejection of the 'Execution of Prisoners' Law

SadaNews - The Palestinian Teachers' Union has announced a general strike in schools, directorates, and the ministry tomorrow, Wednesday, in rejection and condemnation of the "Knesset's" approval of the execution law for prisoners.

The statement said: "The Palestinian Teachers' Union condemns in the strongest terms the occupation Knesset's approval of the law to execute Palestinian prisoners, considering it a documented crime against humanity and a flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws, primarily the Geneva Conventions, and a consolidation of policies of killing, racism, and systematic extermination against our people."

It continued: "This fascist law does not merely pose a threat to prisoners; it targets the entire Palestinian existence and legalizes what the occupation state has been practicing for decades through executions, torture, and medical neglect inside prisons."

It added: "Therefore, the union emphasizes that what is required at the Palestinian and international levels is not limited to condemnation, but to elevate the discourse and stance to immediately demand the release of prisoners as a fundamental right that is non-negotiable."

The Palestinian Teachers' Union calls on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to bear their legal and moral responsibilities, to stop the complicity and silence, and to take urgent action to hold the occupation and its leaders accountable for their crimes, and to put an end to the escalating crimes against prisoners and our Palestinian people.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 1/4, there will be a complete strike in schools, directorates, and the ministry in rejection and condemnation of this law.

Glory to the prisoners...
