"The Revolutionary Guard" announces the return of 3 ships that attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz and America deploys additional forces

SadaNews - On Friday, the Iranian "Revolutionary Guard" announced that it had intercepted three ships that attempted to cross Hormuz, reiterating that the strait is closed to navigation to and from ports linked to the "enemy," amid the U.S.-Israeli attack on Tehran.

The "Guard" stated on Friday morning, "Three container ships were turned back after a warning from the navy (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps)."

In a related context, the United States is considering sending no less than 10,000 additional troops to the Middle East in the coming days, according to U.S. media reports on Friday, considering that this may indicate a ground operation within the framework of the war with Iran.

The "Wall Street Journal" quoted officials from the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) as saying that the goal is to provide more military options for President Donald Trump in the war that began on February 28.

It added that this force, which is expected to include infantry units and armored vehicles, will join about 5,000 Marine personnel and thousands of paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division who were previously deployed in the region.

It noted that "it is not precisely known where these forces will be stationed in the Middle East, but it is likely to be within striking distance against Iran and Kharg Island, a vital oil export center off the Iranian coasts."

For its part, the "Axios" news site considered that the deliberation over deploying these forces is "a new indicator that a U.S. ground operation in Iran is being seriously prepared."

The site reported a high-ranking U.S. Department of Defense official as saying that a decision regarding troop deployment is expected next week, indicating that these personnel will be from combat units different from those previously sent to the region.
