Council of University Presidents Discusses University Attendance Arrangements Amid Current Conditions
SadaNews - The Council of Palestinian University Presidents discussed, during its regular meeting chaired by Minister of Education and Higher Education Amjad Barham, the arrangements for the attendance of Palestinian higher education institutions in light of the ongoing war.
The council emphasized working diligently and responsibly to continue the educational journey using available resources and means, primarily remote education, to ensure the safety of students, academics, and all staff, in accordance with the directives of the Cabinet and the government’s emergency committee in this context.
The council stressed the need to enhance the remote education system to ensure that the educational process does not stop under any circumstances, as Palestinian higher education institutions have made significant progress in employing e-learning, especially during crises, with universities in Gaza continuing their mission despite the genocide committed by the occupation.
In another context, Barham briefed the council on the latest developments and efforts regarding education relief in Gaza, indicating that work is underway to secure support that contributes to covering the tuition fees of Gaza university students, ensuring the continuity of the educational journey despite all the circumstances caused by the occupation's aggression, while preserving higher education institutions in the region.
He also addressed the ministry's efforts and arrangements for conducting the general secondary school examination next June in a unified manner in the West Bank, Gaza, and abroad, confirming that all possible efforts will be made to successfully complete this examination despite any obstacles.
