Dahi Khalfan: There is no good in the countries of the region.. Cooperation with Israel is the solution
Following the months-long extermination in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in over 70,000 martyrs and nearly total destruction of the infrastructure, a controversial Emirati stance has emerged today, suggesting that confronting missiles and shrapnel did not show any actual presence of Arabs, and that the alternative is to turn towards Israel and Western countries.
The Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan, urged the Gulf Arab states and their populations to strengthen relations with Israel in light of the ongoing war in the Middle East between the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran on the other. He stated via the 'X' platform: "O people of the Gulf Arab, strengthen cooperation with Israel.. A piece of advice.. There is no good in the countries of the region at all."
In another post, Khalfan considered that the American and Israeli attack on Iran aims to "eliminate the machines of destruction manufactured for Persian hegemony over the region", adding: "This war has proven that Western countries are the friendly nations... and those we call as 'sisterly' have actually broken away from us... except for the monarchies that resonate with us and feel our sentiments."
He continued in a third tweet: "It is a disgrace for the Gulf countries to remain in a university that calls itself an Arab League.. while it does not have Arab sentiments.. it sympathizes with the Persians."
He also called for a "collective Gulf agreement with Israel and influential friendly Western countries."
For his part, Anwar Gargash, advisor to the President of the UAE, stated in a tweet: "We in the Gulf Arab states have the right to ask: Where are the institutions of joint Arab and Islamic action, foremost among them the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, while our countries and peoples are subjected to this brutal Iranian aggression? And where are the 'major' Arab and regional countries?"
He added: "In this absence and inability, it is not permissible to later talk about the decline of the Arab and Islamic role or to criticize the American and Western presence." He concluded by saying: "The Gulf Arab states have been a support and partner to all in times of prosperity... so where are you today in times of hardship?"
