Reports: Halting Attacks on Iran Limited to Energy Facilities
SadaNews - The platform "Semafor" reported, citing a U.S. official, that the United States will continue its strikes on Iran and that the halt in attacks is limited only to energy facilities in Tehran.
This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that he had "constructive" talks with unnamed Iranian officials.
Trump decided yesterday, Monday, to postpone a plan to bomb the Iranian energy grid for five days.
Iran later denied that it had entered into negotiations with the United States.
A U.S. official told Semafor, "The halt in attacks for five days is limited only to energy sites."
He added, "This does not include military and naval sites, ballistic missiles, and the defense industrial base. Initial initiatives for the process of "epic rage" will continue."
Reuters has not yet been able to verify the accuracy of this report.
Neither the White House, the U.S. State Department, nor the Pentagon have yet responded to requests for comment outside of official working hours.
The Semafor report also indicated that Israel was not a party to the discussions between Washington and Tehran.
