Trump: We no longer need NATO countries' help to reopen the Strait of Hormuz
SadaNews - U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday that he no longer needs help to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, after most of America's allies rejected his request in this regard.
He wrote on his platform "Truth Social": "Most of our NATO allies informed the United States that they do not wish to participate in our military operation against the terrorist Iranian regime."
He added: "We no longer need help from NATO countries, and we no longer want it. We never needed it at all," also referencing Japan, Australia, and South Korea, other allied countries that rejected his request for assistance.
He continued: "I thought Europe would announce its readiness to send minesweepers... and we don't even know if there are any mines there."
He criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for making a "grave mistake" by not supporting the United States in the Iran War.
Trump also mentioned the resignation of Joe Kent from his position as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, confirming that it was a "good thing" as he is "extremely weak in security."
While the U.S. president assured that "we are not ready to leave Iran just yet," he reiterated, saying: "We will leave in the very near future."
On another note, he stated that he expects to visit China in about a month, following a postponed visit due to the war on Iran.
