Trump Conditions Any Agreement with Iran on Its Complete Abandonment of Nuclear Ambitions

SadaNews: U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran's commitment to fully abandon any nuclear ambitions would be part of any agreement.

He clarified in statements to NBC News that any conditions for reaching an agreement with Tehran must be very strong, he said.

Trump added, "Iran wants to make a deal, and I don’t want to make it because the conditions are not good enough."

He addressed Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei by saying, "He needs to do something very wise for his country if he is alive," adding that he heard Mojtaba was not alive, but he retracted expressing his belief that this is "just a rumor."

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump confirmed that he has asked several countries "affected by Iran's actions" for help securing the strait.

Trump expressed his surprise at Iran's targeting of countries in the region, which has led to rising tensions and increased oil prices, but he downplayed the impact of rising fuel prices on the U.S. domestic front, stating that prices will soon drop after the war ends.

According to NBC News, the average price of gasoline in the United States was $2.94 per gallon (about 3.785 liters) on March 1, marking the beginning of the war, before rising to $3.66 yesterday, Saturday.

Regarding the recent military operations, Trump stated that the United States has completely destroyed the Iranian island of Khark, noting that he stayed away from energy lines because rebuilding them could take years, he said.

Statements from the Trump administration over the past two weeks have shown discrepancies regarding the goals and duration of military operations, as the U.S. president has stated on some occasions that the war may last for a month or more, while at other times he has confirmed that the United States is "much ahead of schedule" and that "there are almost no remaining objectives."

Trump claimed that "the only remaining power of Iran" lies in its ability to plant sea mines or launch short-range missiles, adding that this capability "will end soon."

He also said: "We have destroyed most of their missiles and most of their drones, and we have largely destroyed their capabilities to manufacture missiles and drones, and within two days they will be completely eliminated," as he expressed.

Since February 28, Israel and the United States have been carrying out attacks on Iran, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and security officials, while Tehran responds by launching missiles and drones towards Israel, and what it describes as "American interests" in the region, but these attacks have targeted civilian facilities in the region's countries, such as airports, ports, and energy facilities.

So far, 13 American soldiers have been killed since the war began, including 6 soldiers from a refueling aircraft who were killed last Friday after their plane crashed in Iraq.
