SadaNews - In a notable escalation, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Heghsith stated today (Friday) that Iran "may experience the largest scale of American strikes yet," announcing that the United States will continue to advance its military operations against Iran.
Heghsith confirmed to reporters that the Iranian leadership "has resorted to underground shelters" amid the ongoing military escalation, pointing out that some Iranian leaders are also moving towards civilian areas in an attempt to avoid being targeted.
He stated that the new Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei has been injured and may have sustained deformities.
He added: "The United States will continue to advance in its military operations against Iran," clarifying that the strikes could escalate, saying: "Today may witness the largest scale of American strikes so far."
Regarding the political decision, Heghsith emphasized that U.S. President Donald Trump holds the cards in this confrontation, and he will decide the timing of the next steps. He also confirmed that all Iranian defense companies will soon be targets for destruction as part of the ongoing operations.
