With Continued Israeli Bombing.. About 760,000 Displaced Persons in Lebanon

SadaNews - The Lebanese authorities have recorded the displacement of about 760,000 people since the beginning of the war between Hezbollah and Israel, coinciding with the renewed Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon and the southern suburb of Beirut after new evacuation alerts were issued.

The war in the Middle East has reached Lebanon after Hezbollah launched missiles at Israel in response to the assassination of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of American-Israeli strikes, and since then Israel has responded by carrying out extensive air raids on Lebanon and advancing its forces into the south.

The Lebanese government's disaster management unit reported in its daily report that the number of "self-registered" displaced persons since March 2 has reached 759,300, including more than 122,000 people in official shelter centers managed by the government.

The authorities have converted schools and public facilities into shelter centers for the displaced, such as the sports city of Beirut.

The official National News Agency reported the killing of the mayor of Jawiya, Fawzi Fawaz, and municipal member Abbas Al-Baalbaki in an airstrike on the town.

Hezbollah announced in a statement that it targeted a "gathering of vehicles and soldiers of the enemy Israeli army in Khallat Al-Mahafir on the outskirts of the town of Adaisseh at the border" with a barrage of missiles, and also announced targeting the Mishmar HaCarmel missile defense site of the enemy Israeli army south of the occupied city of Haifa with a barrage of rockets.

Additionally, the Lebanese agency reported "widespread clashes" between groups from Hezbollah and an opposing force at the outskirts of the town of Aitaroun in the Bent Jbeil district, using rocket and artillery weapons.

For its part, Hezbollah announced that it targeted an Israeli force advancing towards the Khanouq area in the town of Aitaroun with artillery.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the death of one person due to an Israeli airstrike on a motorcycle in the Ouzai area, and 3 deaths, including a paramedic, from two Israeli airstrikes on the town of Hanawiya in the Tyre district.

The party announced its missile bombardment of gatherings of Israeli soldiers around the town of Al-Khiam, which is one of the main axes where Israeli forces advanced into southern Lebanon last week.

The Lebanese agency reported that Israeli warplanes conducted "intense airstrikes on the Al-Jamous neighborhood in the southern suburb," while the Israeli army announced the launching of strikes on "infrastructure" belonging to Hezbollah in the area after issuing evacuation alerts for vast neighborhoods.

Live broadcasts from Agence France-Presse showed plumes of smoke rising from a building in the area after the airstrike.

This comes after an Israeli airstrike on a building near the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon, according to the National Agency, following an Israeli evacuation alert that also covered another building in the city of Sidon, the largest city in southern Lebanon.

The Ministry of Health reported on Monday 486 deaths and more than 1,300 injuries due to Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, while 15 members of the Islamic Health Authority affiliated with Hezbollah have been killed in Israeli airstrikes since the start of the war.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) evacuated residents of the predominantly Christian Alama Al-Shaab town located on the border with Israel on Tuesday after they insisted on staying despite evacuation calls from the Israeli army.
