Pentagon: Most Injuries of American Soldiers in Iran War Are Minor

SadaNews - The Pentagon announced that around 140 American military personnel were injured during ten days of fighting with Iran.

U.S. Department of Defense spokesperson Sean Parnell stated in an email statement that the vast majority of the injuries are minor, and 108 service members have already returned to duty. He added that eight American soldiers are suffering serious injuries, according to the Associated Press.

This figure represents the first indication of the broader toll on U.S. forces following a wave of missile and drone attacks launched by Iran in response to U.S. and Israeli strikes, which also resulted in the death of seven American soldiers in the region.

The war has entered its eleventh day with no signs of ending, while Iran's attacks on regional infrastructure and its threats to disrupt maritime navigation have raised concerns in global markets, as the United States vowed to deliver tougher strikes.

Statements between the two sides have clearly escalated; U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth pledged to launch the most intense strikes yet inside Iran, while Iranian leaders ruled out any talks and issued direct threats to U.S. President Donald Trump.

Iran has launched new attacks against Israel and Arab countries, while Israel - Washington's main ally in this confrontation - has conducted additional airstrikes against Tehran and Lebanon, where it is engaged in combat against the Iran-backed "Hezbollah."

Since the outbreak of war, at least 1,230 people have been killed in Iran, 397 in Lebanon, 11 in Israel, in addition to seven American soldiers, according to the Associated Press.
