Occupation Continues to Close Al-Aqsa Mosque, Preventing Tarawih Prayers and I'tikaf for the First Time Since 1967

SadaNews: The Israeli occupation forces continue to close the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque for the eleventh consecutive day, preventing worshippers from performing prayers there, citing security conditions related to the ongoing war with Iran.

The continued closure of the mosque during the last ten days of Ramadan is a dangerous precedent, as for the first time since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, the Tarawih prayers and I'tikaf are banned inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.

For its part, the Jerusalem Governorate warned of a significant escalation in the incitement rhetoric led by so-called "Temple" extremist organizations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, amid the ongoing closure measures.

The governorate affirmed that what is happening cannot be considered temporary security measures as claimed by the occupation authorities, but rather falls within a political and ideological agenda aimed at altering the existing religious, historical, and legal reality in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
