Occupation Army: 300 Iranian Defense and Missile Systems Neutralized
SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Israeli army stated that Israeli forces continue their attack on Iran as part of Operation "Lion's Roar", confirming that the army is conducting intense strikes against what it describes as the "Iranian terror regime".
The spokesperson clarified in a press briefing that the Israeli army has begun dismantling Iranian defense layers since the operation's launch by targeting air defense systems and surface-to-air missiles, alongside several other military targets.
He added that the Israeli Air Force managed to achieve air superiority within 24 hours and opened the way towards the Iranian depth reaching Tehran, noting the ongoing targeting of ballistic missile launch platforms that pose a threat to Israel.
The spokesperson stated that the Israeli strikes have so far led to the attack, destruction, and neutralization of approximately 300 Iranian air defense and ballistic missile systems.
The Israeli army also announced that it targeted sites related to the Iranian nuclear program, in addition to facilities linked to arms manufacturing and strategic combat systems production.
He added that the operations also included eliminating several prominent leaders within the Iranian regime based on intelligence information.
The spokesperson noted that the Israeli army has attacked more than 220 targets inside Tehran since the beginning of the operation.
He stated that Israeli fighter jets bombed, on Wednesday, a military compound in the Safaria area east of Tehran, which includes headquarters that he said were used to manage operations against Israel and suppress Iranian citizens.
He explained that among the targets was the headquarters of the special operations unit of the Quds Force, which he said is responsible for weapon transfers and financing armed groups in the Middle East.
Regarding Lebanon, the spokesperson said that Hezbollah launched missiles towards Israel, in addition to an anti-tank missile that resulted in moderate injuries to two Israeli soldiers.
He added that the Israeli army "will not permit gunfire from Lebanon or attacks on its forces".
In response to a question about directing Lebanese residents to evacuate north of the Litani River, the spokesperson said this comes "to protect them from areas where Hezbollah operates that will be targeted".
He also stated that the aim of the operations is to remove what he described as the existential threat to Israel, adding that the Iranian regime "has become fragile after striking its leaders and core components".
He noted that the Israeli army continues to evaluate the security situation, affirming that the safety of Israeli civilians remains the top priority.
