Washington Raises Travel Advisory Level for 4 Arab Countries to Level Three

SadaNews - The U.S. Department of State has announced an increase in the travel advisory level for Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to Level Three.

The decision comes in the wake of escalating Iranian attacks on several Arab countries in the region, in response to strikes launched by the United States and Israel last Saturday, which resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several military leaders.

Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department has kept its travel advisory for Egypt at Level Two, without changing its overall assessment of the security situation there.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of State ordered the evacuation of non-essential staff and their families from Bahrain and Jordan. An announcement posted by the department online stated that the decision was made "due to safety concerns."

In a related context, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that 9,000 Americans have managed to leave the region since the start of the war, noting that around 1,500 Americans have requested assistance to leave.

In the same context, the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh warned its citizens on Tuesday of an imminent attack involving missiles and drones in Eastern Saudi Arabia, hours after its compound in the capital was attacked by two drones causing minimal fire.

The embassy also confirmed it was attacked by Iranian drones and urged Americans to avoid entering the diplomatic building at this time.

The State Department urged Americans throughout the Middle East to leave amidst the ongoing war with Iran.

The Gulf countries and the region are witnessing an unprecedented escalation in Iranian attacks, as the war enters its fifth day following the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.
