Prime Minister Announces Permanent Activation of Emergency Cell to Secure Needs of Palestinians

SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa affirmed the directives of the President to various government institutions to address the needs of our people and ensure the provision of essential services in light of the escalating attacks by the occupation and its settlers, as well as regional developments, noting that the government emergency cell is in a state of constant convening and coordination.

In this context, the Council of Ministers condemned in its weekly session today, Tuesday, the continuing crimes of the occupation and its settlers against our people, the latest of which is the crime committed by settlers in Qaryout, south of Nablus, which resulted in the martyrdom of citizens and injuries to others. It called on the international community to move from mere condemnation to effective deterrent measures, including the imposition of effective sanctions, activating international accountability mechanisms, and providing urgent protection for our people.

The Council renewed its call for the need to intensify international pressure to reopen the crossings with the Gaza Strip and ensure the immediate and sustained entry of humanitarian aid, while also urging various international and relief organizations, particularly UNRWA, to intensify their efforts in light of the current developments and work to secure urgent humanitarian needs for our people in the Gaza Strip.

In the Arab context, the Council of Ministers condemned the attacks targeting brotherly Arab countries, reiterating its rejection of any infringement on their sovereignty, and considering those attacks a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, affirming its full solidarity with the affected countries and support for all measures they take to preserve their security and stability.

Additionally, the Council discussed in its first reading a draft amendment to the Electronic Crimes Law, preceded by publishing the previous law on the legislation platform and holding a series of sessions and meetings with civil society organizations and various partner institutions to gather comments and opinions. Consequently, about 18 amendments were made to the original law to meet the need to regulate the use of information technology and combat the newly emerging patterns of electronic crimes while responding to the comments of civil society organizations and respecting fundamental rights and public freedoms, with discussions continuing until it is finally referred to the President for approval.

The Council also recommended to the President the adoption of the amended version of the Euro-Mediterranean regional agreement regarding preferential rules of origin for exported goods, which will contribute to opening greater opportunities for the export of Palestinian products to European Union countries, particularly in the agricultural sector.

In addition, the Council saluted the Palestinian woman for her sacrifices and resilience on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls next Sunday, March 8, 2026, and considered it an official holiday.
