Occupation Continues to Tighten Military Measures in West Bank Governorates

SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces continue, for the fourth consecutive day, to tighten their military procedures in the governorates of the West Bank, by closing barriers, city and town entrances, and obstructing the movement of citizens.

In Ramallah, the occupation forces have intensified their measures around the governorate, closing the Ein Siniya checkpoint and the northern entrance to the city of Al-Bireh for those exiting, as well as closing the entrances to Silwad, Sinjl, Turmusaya, Aaboud, and Taybeh, in addition to closing the Nabi Saleh gate and the Rawabi gate.

In Nablus Governorate, the occupation forces closed the entrances to the towns of Yatma, Surra, Awarta, Jama'in, and Huwwara.

In Salfit, the occupation forces closed the northern entrance to Salfit and Deir Ballut.

These forces also set up a military checkpoint under the "bridge" in the Aqaba Hasna area, leading to the western countryside, and prevented vehicles from passing, causing a severe traffic congestion in the area.

In Bethlehem, the occupation forces established a checkpoint at the "Nashash" entrance connecting Bethlehem and Hebron, and Bethlehem with its southern countryside, where the forces checked the identities of citizens and searched their vehicles.

The occupation also continues to close the iron gates of the town of Za'tara in the east, and the villages of Marah Rabah and Al-Manshiyya in the south.

In Hebron, the occupation forces closed the entrances to Ras al-Jourah, Sa'ir, Nabi Younes, Al-Fahs, Zif, Tarqumiyah, and Al-Aroub.

The widespread deployment of military checkpoints and gates set up by the occupation forces in Palestinian territories makes it increasingly difficult for citizens to move, with the number of checkpoints exceeding 916, including 243 gates set up after October 7, 2023.
