Iran Announces Launch of New Attacks on Israel and American Bases
SadaNews - The Iranian state television announced on Sunday morning the commencement of new attacks on Israel and American bases in the region, following the announcement of the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in an attack on his residence in Tehran on Saturday.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard vowed that the armed forces "will take a different and harsh retaliatory step".
The Revolutionary Guard stated in a statement: "We have carried out the sixth wave of missile and drone attacks on Israel and American military bases in the region".
According to the Revolutionary Guard, among the Iranian targets were 27 American bases in the region, along with the Tel Nof base, the headquarters of the Israeli army in Hakaría, and the massive defense industrial complex in Tel Aviv.
The Revolutionary Guard clarified: "The Iranian armed forces will not allow the warning sirens in the occupied territories and American bases to be silenced, and will take a different and harsh retaliatory step with successive and regrettable strikes".
Sirens were activated in Tel Aviv and several areas of Israel, warning of imminent attacks.
The Israeli army announced that sirens were sounded in various parts of the country after missiles were detected launched from Iran towards Israel, adding that interception operations are underway.
On Saturday night, a woman was killed in the Tel Aviv area after Iran launched a wave of missiles towards Israel, according to the Israeli Red Star organization.
