Central Election Commission Receives 87 Lists for Local Elections
SadaNews - The Central Election Commission announced at the end of the third day of the nomination phase for the 2026 local elections the number of nomination applications it has received until the end of Wednesday, as part of its daily follow-up on the electoral process.
The Commission clarified that the total number of requests received in the municipalities has reached 87 lists, which include 1,014 male and female candidates, in addition to 486 male and female candidates for village councils.
The Commission confirmed that the submission of applications does not mean their final acceptance, indicating that all files will be subject to review and study, and that responses will be given to applicants as soon as the legal and procedural auditing is completed. The Commission also urged potential candidates to expedite their applications and not wait until the last moments, in order to avoid congestion and ensure the completion of the required procedures before the legal deadlines expire.
