The Ministry of Education Announces the Date for Holding the General Secondary Certificate Examinations
SadaNews - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced the date for holding the General Secondary Certificate Examination for the year 2026, for both the first and second sessions.
The ministry clarified today, Wednesday, that the first session examinations will begin on Saturday, June 20, 2026, and will continue until Wednesday, July 8, 2026, while the second session examinations will start on Saturday, August 15, 2026, and will continue until Thursday, August 27, 2026.
It stated that the exam sessions will begin daily at nine in the morning for all branches: literary, scientific, religious, entrepreneurship and business, agricultural, industrial, hotel management, and home economics.
It pointed out that the practical exams for vocational branches in the first session will be held on May 18-20, 2026, and may continue until Thursday, May 21, 2026, for productive specialties, while in the second session they will be held on August 10-12, 2026, and may continue until Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The ministry confirmed that the evaluation of projects for vocational students will begin on Sunday, June 7, 2026, indicating that if a public holiday coincides with one of the exam days, the exam will be moved to the following day according to the exam schedule or based on the decision of the General Examinations Committee.
