The Cabinet Warns Against Unjustified Delays in Delivering Basic Living Supplies to Gaza

SadaNews: Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa opened the weekly cabinet meeting today, Tuesday, updating council members on the developments in political and diplomatic communications moving forward to defend the rights of our people in various international forums.

The cabinet warned about the continued fragility of humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip due to unjustified delays in delivering humanitarian aid and basic living necessities, exacerbating the suffering of citizens amid rainfall and the flooding of hundreds of tents, which complicates dealing with the effects of the weather systems. Meanwhile, our people there continue to endure the repercussions of the ongoing Israeli aggression and its catastrophic effects on various aspects of life, despite the declaration of a ceasefire.

In this context, the council condemned the decision of the occupation authorities to confiscate 2,000 dunams of land from the towns of Sebastia and Burqa in the northern Nablus governorate, a step targeting the archaeological site in Sebastia and infringing upon the Palestinian historical heritage, coinciding with the rising demolition notices in various regions and an intensification of demolition operations. It confirmed that this dangerous escalation against Palestinian land requires a serious and firm international stance to deter the occupation and stop its ongoing violations.

Moreover, the government reaffirms its readiness to coordinate and cooperate with the High Representative for Gaza to provide essential services and enable relief, recovery, and reconstruction programs in the transitional phase according to Security Council resolution 2803, bolstering efforts to realize an independent Palestinian state per international legitimacy decisions.

In another context, the council listened to a briefing from the Minister of Agriculture regarding the Israeli media claims about the contamination of Palestinian vegetables with pesticide residues, stressing that there is a continuous oversight and testing system in accordance with international standards. He clarified that imported pesticides are also subject to inspection and monitoring procedures by Israeli authorities due to their control over the crossings and borders, ensuring that only products meeting the approved specifications enter the market.

The Ministry of Agriculture has also launched the Agricultural Pesticides Guide for the year 2025 as a national reference that organizes safe and responsible use, following thorough testing that resulted in the approval of only 198 pesticides out of 530 locally circulating pesticides.

The council directed an expansion of cooperation with the private sector to help confront Israeli claims targeting national products and restricting the agricultural sector.

Additionally, it approved the draft property valuation system aimed at organizing this sector by establishing scientific foundations and international professional standards for real estate valuation, regulating the valuation profession, and setting licensing standards, along with controlling and organizing property prices to enhance trust and fairness in real estate transactions, limiting price manipulation, and protecting citizens' rights.

The council also approved the recommendations from the ministerial committee overseeing the implementation of the national spatial plan in its first meeting, which includes lifting protection from a number of land parcels primarily aimed at expanding the organizational boundaries of local authorities, along with adopting transactions compliant with the approved national spatial plan 2050, contributing to the protection of citizens' properties and organizing urban expansion.

Furthermore, the council approved the requirements and technical specifications for prepaid counters/version five that align with the latest releases, which will facilitate citizens using the most advanced technologies for remote charging while reducing wastage, and open the field for competition among supply companies without imposing any additional burdens on citizens.
