Shoulder-Launched Missiles: Iran Approves Secret Deal with Russia
SadaNews - Iran approved a secret arms deal worth 500 million euros (589 million dollars) with Russia to acquire thousands of advanced shoulder-launched missiles, according to the "Financial Times".
According to leaked Russian documents reviewed by the newspaper and several informed sources, the agreement, which was signed in Moscow in December, obligates Russia to deliver 500 shoulder-launched launch units of the "Verba" model and 2,500 missiles of the "9M336" model over a period of three years.
These leaks come after U.S. President Donald Trump recently reiterated hints that he is considering launching limited military strikes against Iran if a deal on the nuclear issue is not reached soon.
Trump also indicated that he has given the Iranian side a timeframe of 10 to 15 days, otherwise "bad things will happen".
Meanwhile, two U.S. officials revealed that American military planning regarding Iran has reached an advanced stage, with options that include targeting individuals as part of a limited strike, or aiming to change the regime in Tehran if Trump so orders.
