Hamas: US Ambassador's Remarks are "Expansionist Delusions"

SadaNews - On the evening of Saturday, February 21, 2026, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) launched a sharp attack on the US ambassador to Israel, "Mike Huckabee," regarding his recent statements in which he endorsed the expansion of Israeli control over areas in the Middle East based on "Biblical justifications."

The movement said in a press release issued today that these statements represent a blatant embodiment of the "colonial mentality" embraced by the Zionist movement, describing the US position as an "outrageous bias" towards annexation and domination projects, which constitutes a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Hamas emphasized Washington's support for the geographical expansion of occupation to include Arab and Islamic lands.

The statement asserted that these positions will not grant the occupation any legitimacy on the ground, nor will they change the historical facts that confirm its invalid existence, insisting that the Palestinian people will remain steadfast in their right to self-determination and in protecting their holy sites regardless of the pressures they face.

At the end of its statement, Hamas issued an urgent appeal to the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to take firm positions that go beyond "the language of condemnation," to actively work on isolating the occupation and confronting its expansionist schemes, and to demand the international community to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes and extremist rhetoric.
