Sheikh Sends Message to Mladenov Announcing the Establishment of a Liaison Office Headed by Mohamed Mustafa

SadaNews - The Palestinian Vice President Hussein Sheikh confirmed on Saturday that the Palestinian Authority has established a liaison office headed by Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa, and that the office is now ready to undertake its full duties.

Sheikh clarified in a message sent to Nikolai Mladenov that the communications that took place with him, as well as ongoing consultations with Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and a number of partners, all came within the framework of supporting the efforts led by President Donald Trump, and bolstering the political path aimed at achieving stability and peace.

Sheikh's deputy welcomed yesterday Mladenov's announcement regarding the establishment of a liaison office affiliated with the Palestinian National Authority, providing an official channel for coordination and communication between the office of the Peace Council representative and the National Authority to implement President Trump's plan, and UN Security Council resolution 2803.

We are pleased to express our welcome of the statement issued by your office on February 20, 2026 regarding the establishment of a liaison office by the Palestinian Authority, and your emphasis on the importance of this institutional framework for communication and coordination.

In this context, we affirm that the communications that took place with you, as well as the ongoing consultations with Mr. Witkoff, Mr. Jared Kushner, and a number of partners, all came in support of the efforts led by President Donald Trump and to support the political track aimed at achieving stability and peace.

We welcomed President Trump's twenty-point plan, as well as UN Security Council resolution 2803 (2025), and the establishment of the senior representative's office and the formation of the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip, as practical transitional steps that contribute to alleviating the suffering of our people and providing administrative and security services, ensuring that there is no administrative, legal, or security duality among the people of Gaza and the West Bank, reinforcing the principle of a single system, a single law, and a single legitimate weapon.

In this regard, we officially inform you that the Palestinian Authority has established a liaison office headed by the Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, and that the office is now ready to fully assume its duties, ensuring a clear and organized channel for coordination and communication with your office.

This comes within our commitment to implementing the twenty-point peace plan announced by President Trump, contributing to building a brighter future for the Palestinian people, and enhancing their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy decisions and in line with Security Council resolution 2803 (2025).
