Fatah and the Democratic Front Affirm Commitment to the PLO as the Sole Legitimate Representative of the Palestinians
SadaNews - The Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine stressed the necessity of continuing dialogue and coordination with various Palestinian factions to reach a unified national vision within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization, in response to current challenges and to enhance the resilience of the Palestinian people.
This came during a meeting held between them today, Wednesday, at the Palestine Embassy in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in the presence of the Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt, Diab Louh.
The Fatah delegation included: Secretary of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Azzam al-Ahmad, President of the National Council, Rouhi Fattouh, Central Committee member, Samir al-Rifai, and Central Council member, Sakher Bseiso. The Democratic Front delegation included: Secretary-General Fahd Suleiman, his deputy, Majda al-Masri, and Political Bureau members, Fathi Khlayb and Samir Abu Modallah.
The participants emphasized the importance of adhering to the Palestine Liberation Organization as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.
The meeting also addressed the necessity of enhancing the resilience of citizens in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, as well as confronting annexation, displacement, and settlement expansion plans, while stressing the importance of maintaining the geographical, political, and representative unity of the Palestinian state.
Additionally, mechanisms for stopping the war, consolidating the ceasefire, breaking the siege, reopening crossings, and ensuring the flow of aid and relief were discussed.
