The Palestinian Issue Before the Security Council Today
SadaNews - The United Nations Security Council will discuss the Palestinian issue at the ministerial level this evening, Wednesday, during its monthly session.
The session is expected to be chaired by the UK's Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Yvette Cooper, as her country holds the Security Council presidency this month.
Council members will listen to a briefing from the Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo, regarding the latest developments in occupied Palestine, particularly the recent measures by the occupation aimed at facilitating the takeover of the occupied West Bank.
The session will be followed by closed consultations.
