Arson Fire Kills 75 Heads of Sheep in Samou' with Estimated Losses of 200,000 Shekels
SadaNews - A massive fire broke out in a sheep barn in the Khillat Niyass area in Samou', south of Hebron, leading to the death of 75 heads of sheep according to the Samou' municipality, and complete destruction of the barn covering an area of 170 square meters, along with partial damage to an adjacent barn.
The Civil Defense confirmed that there are no indications of the fire spreading from inside the barn, and it is likely to have been caused intentionally.
The mayor, Ibrahim Al-Rawashda, along with the veterinary and agricultural department of Samou', Palestinian Civil Defense, and Palestinian police, attended the site to investigate the causes of the incident.
The municipality of Samou' stated: "It is worth mentioning that the Khillat Niyass area is subjected to repeated assaults and harassment from settlers against the residents and farmers of the area."
The Agricultural and Veterinary Department of Yatta estimated the losses at over 200,000 shekels.
