4 Martyrs in Attack by Occupation on Vehicle in Southern Lebanon
SadaNews - Four people were martyred when an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle in Majdal Anjar in the Bekaa Valley, Eastern Lebanon, late Sunday evening. The Israeli army announced that it targeted elements of the Palestinian "Islamic Jihad". Additionally, the occupation forces launched an airstrike in the Al-Masnaa area at the Lebanese-Syrian border.
The occupation army stated in a statement that it "recently conducted an attack on elements of 'Islamic Jihad' in the Majdal Anjar area of Lebanon".
Local sources also reported that the Israeli army carried out "an airstrike on a vehicle in the Al-Masnaa area at the Lebanese-Syrian border".
The Lebanese news agency earlier on Sunday reported that the "al-Shalala area at the outskirts of the town of Aytarun has been subjected to intermittent artillery shelling," noting that this "coincided with a sweeping operation using machine guns from the hostile Malikiya site towards the outskirts of the town".
In a related context, an Israeli drone fell near the Hula Hussainiya in southern Lebanon, but the Lebanese agency did not provide additional details regarding this incident.
Furthermore, the Lebanese news agency reported that two Israeli military vehicles stopped at the southern border, from which a number of soldiers disembarked and crossed the "Blue Line," briefly infiltrating the territories in the Al-Jidar – Darb Al-Hourat area, southeast of the city of Mais Al-Jabal.
The agency added that the patrol then withdrew and returned to the opposite side of the border.
The Blue Line is the demarcation line set for Israel's withdrawal from Lebanon in 2000.
This occurs as Israel continues its violations of the ceasefire with "Hezbollah," which has been in effect since November 2024, resulting in fatalities and injuries, as well as ongoing occupation of five Lebanese hills controlled by Tel Aviv during the recent war, as well as other areas occupied for decades.
Israel has killed more than 4,000 people and injured around 17,000 others during its aggression on Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and escalated into a full-scale war in September 2024 before it ceased following the signing of a ceasefire agreement.
