Jordan.. Banks Reject 99,000 Funding Applications Worth 1.7 Billion Dinar in 2025
SadaNews - The banking sector has rejected nearly 99,000 new funding applications in 2025, with a total value exceeding 1.699 billion dinars, noting that the total value of requested financing increased by approximately 1.827 billion dinars compared to 2024, according to data issued by the Central Bank.
According to the data, the value of new financing facilities that clients applied for in 2025 reached 13.795 billion dinars, compared to 11.967 billion dinars in the same period of 2024.
The figures released by the Central Bank indicate that the local banking sector approved funding facilities worth 12.095 billion dinars last year, while it rejected loans and facilities worth 1.699 billion dinars during this period.
In terms of the total number of new facilities, last year saw 413,000 applications from various sectors, with the banking sector approving 314,000 requests, while the remaining number of financings were rejected.
The total number of facilities from January to the end of December 2025 reached 36.060 billion dinars, the vast majority of which went to the private sector, both resident and non-resident, accounting for 88.6%, amounting to nearly 32 billion dinars.
