A Round of Negotiations Between Iran and the US in Geneva Next Week
SadaNews - Switzerland announced on Saturday that a new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran will take place in Geneva next week, hosted by Oman, which previously hosted the first round in Muscat this month.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry told AFP that "Switzerland is ready at any time to make efforts to facilitate dialogue between the United States and Iran."
He added: "Oman will host talks between the United States and Iran in Geneva next week," without specifying a date, confirming that "Switzerland welcomes and supports these talks."
This development comes alongside reports from Reuters about both parties intending to hold a new round of negotiations next Tuesday in Geneva.
According to a source familiar with the situation who spoke to Reuters, an American delegation including Stephen Vitkov and Jared Kushner will meet with the Iranian side on Tuesday morning, with representatives from Oman participating as mediators.
The source also indicated that Vitkov and Kushner will later participate in separate trilateral talks with representatives from Russia and Ukraine on the same day.
This comes at a time when President Donald Trump is pressuring the Iranian government while concurrently working to push Moscow and Kyiv toward an agreement to end the ongoing four-year war.
