Settlers Burn Tents in the Maiteh Area of Northern Jordan Valley
SadaNews - Settlers burned tents in the northern Jordan Valley last night.
Local sources reported that settlers set fire to several uninhabited tents in the Maiteh area of the northern Jordan Valley.
Families had been forced to leave their tents in the area following a recent escalation in attacks by settlers on them.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the occupation forces and settlers carried out a total of 1,872 attacks in January alone, with the occupation army responsible for 1,404 of these incidents and settlers for 468. The majority of these attacks were concentrated in Hebron Governorate with 415 incidents, followed by Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate with 374 incidents, then Nablus Governorate with 328 incidents, and finally Jerusalem Governorate with 201 incidents.
The commission explained that the attacks took various forms, including direct physical violence, uprooting trees, burning fields, preventing farmers from accessing their lands, seizing property, and demolishing homes and agricultural facilities.
