Trump Expects an Agreement with Iran Next Month
SadaNews - President Donald Trump stated that reaching an agreement with Iran is "possible" within the next month.
Trump mentioned in remarks to reporters in response to a question about the timeline for reaching an agreement with Iran: "I think approximately next month, something like that. It shouldn't take a long time. They should agree very quickly.
He warned that Tehran will face a "very difficult situation" if a "fair and good" deal is not reached.
He clarified: "Netanyahu understands our position, and I had a good meeting with him... also, Netanyahu did not ask me to stop talking to Iran."
He continued: "Iran should have reached an agreement when we delivered the last blow to them."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed earlier on Thursday his hope that Trump's efforts would help create conditions for reaching an agreement with Iran to avoid any military action.
Netanyahu, before leaving Washington, said that during his meeting with Trump he expressed "general doubts," and that if an agreement is reached, it must include elements crucial for Israel.
He added that these elements include Iran's nuclear program, its ballistic missiles, and the groups operating on its behalf.
These statements come amid rising tensions in the region, coinciding with intense American diplomatic and military movements, most notably preparations to deploy a second aircraft carrier in the Middle East and holding meetings with Washington's allies to discuss the Iranian nuclear file and Tehran's regional behavior.
