Injuries in Attacks by Settlers in the West Bank
SadaNews - Three citizens were injured this evening, Wednesday, in an attack by settlers east of Bethlehem.
Local sources reported that a group of settlers stormed the Malha area, east of the governorate, and assaulted citizens, resulting in injuries to three individuals, one of whom was hurt in the foot, while two others sustained bruises.
The same sources added that occupation forces stormed the town of Za'atra east of Bethlehem and positioned themselves in several neighborhoods, without any arrests reported.
Meanwhile, settlers stormed the Bir Jib' village (Sanour) station in Jenin governorate for the second time, aiming to seize water and deprive local residents of their water sources.
The Water Authority stated in a statement that this storming comes amid escalating repeated assaults targeting water facilities in various governorates, posing a direct threat to the safety and security of technical crews and exposing the continuity of essential services to serious risks.
It clarified that the Bir Jib' station serves approximately 50,000 people in villages south of Jenin, including: Jaba, Al-Funduqiya, Sanour, Ajja, Anza, Al-Zawiya, Fahma, Al-Rama, Wadi Da'ooq, Al-Mansoura, and the Joint Services Council, making any attack on it directly affect citizens' right to secure and regular access to water.
It emphasized that its teams continue to work within the approved legal and technical frameworks to ensure service sustainability under all circumstances, noting that water facilities are considered vital civilian installations that are prohibited from being harmed or exploited under any circumstance.
The Water Authority called on international bodies and relevant institutions to take responsibility for providing the necessary protection for water facilities and their workers, and to stop the repeated attacks that threaten the stability of the water system, ensuring continued service to citizens and safeguarding their right to safe and sustainable access to water.
Settlers also assaulted citizens in their tents in the northern Jordan Valley.
