Hamas and Iran Discuss Political Developments in the Region and Updates on the Aggression Against Gaza
SadaNews - The head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Muhammad Darwish, and a delegation from the movement's leadership, met today, Wednesday, in the Qatari capital Doha, with the Secretary-General of the Iranian Supreme Council, Ali Larijani, to discuss the latest political developments in the region and updates on the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.
During the meeting, Darwish reviewed the overall conditions on the ground and the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, in light of the continued occupation's crimes against our Palestinian people and its evasion of the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing the movement's commitment to implement the terms of the agreement and not return to war again.
He affirmed that the Palestinian resistance continues to endure and remain steadfast in the field, taking on its national and moral responsibilities towards its people, remaining true to its commitments and obligations to defend them, and working by all means to stop the aggression, lift the siege, ensure the flow of humanitarian and relief aid, and heal the wounds of our steadfast people in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting also addressed the ongoing escalation in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, in light of the continued policies and actions of the occupation, particularly the Knesset's recent approval of decisions aimed at annexing lands from the West Bank, in a dangerous step that affects the established national rights of our Palestinian people.
Darwish reiterated the movement's solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, rejecting any aggression targeting its territory, considering that any aggression against the Islamic Republic or any other country in the region would undermine security and stability in the area.
For his part, Larijani briefed the movement's leadership on the latest developments regarding the situation in the Islamic Republic and the ongoing negotiations with the American side.
Larijani stressed his country's firm position in support of the Palestinian cause, praising the sacrifices of the Palestinian people, their resilience, and their resistance, and affirming ongoing support from the Islamic Republic of Iran for their struggle in various arenas and forums.
He added that the Palestinian people have presented commendable examples of steadfastness and giving during this stage, reflecting their strong will in facing challenges.
Attendees from Hamas's leadership included: "Khaled Mashal, Nizar Awadallah, Hussam Badran, Sami Khater, and Basem Naeem."
