Japan Calls on Israel to Stop Settlement Activities in the West Bank
SadaNews - Japan has called on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their "settlement activities" in the West Bank.
Japanese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Toshihiro Kitamura expressed Japan's "concern regarding Israel's decision to expand its control over the West Bank" in a press statement.
He added: "We regret the continued actions of the Israeli government, including colonial activities, despite repeated calls from the international community to cease them."
The statement called on Israel to take "immediate measures to prevent settler violence," emphasizing the necessity of avoiding any actions that could escalate tensions amid ongoing international efforts to stabilize the region surrounding the Gaza Strip.
It pointed out that colonial activities are contrary to international law and undermine the implementation of the two-state solution.
Japan confirmed that it will continue its diplomatic efforts, in cooperation with the international community, to urge the Israeli government to stop its colonial activities.
