Tulkarm Governor: Results Have Been Reached in the "Shantir Diamond" Jewelry Case

SadaNews - The Governor of Tulkarm, Major General Dr. Abdullah Kmeil, praised the efforts of the Tulkarm Police Directorate, conveying the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas, and appreciating the work of the Palestinian police represented by the General Police Director, Major General Alam Al-Saqa, noting the ongoing and diligent efforts to enforce the rule of law and maintain security and safety.

These statements came during the governor’s inspection visit to the Tulkarm Police Directorate, where he was received by the director of the directorate, Brigadier General Bashar Atiany, along with a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and police soldiers.

The governor, Major General Dr. Kmeil, confirmed that the law is applied to everyone without exception, stressing the importance of establishing the authority of the law and enhancing citizens' trust in the security institution.

Governor Dr. Kmeil pointed out that results have been reached in the "Shantir Diamond" jewelry case, explaining that the full results of the investigation will be announced as soon as it is definitively concluded, given that the case is under the supervision of the public prosecution. He emphasized that not everyone who was interrogated is guilty, and affirmed the continued follow-up by the relevant authorities to recover the stolen gold.

He appreciated the role of the Anti-Narcotics Unit in Tulkarm, the efforts of the Public Investigation Department, and all branches and police departments in the governorate, praising the role of all pillars of the security institution in enforcing the law, maintaining security and safety, and protecting civil peace.

The visit included a meeting with departments of the Anti-Narcotics Unit and the General Investigations, in addition to inspecting the detention center and several sections within the directorate, where the governor, Major General Dr. Kmeil, confirmed adherence to the law and human rights standards in dealing with citizens.

For his part, the director of Tulkarm Police, Brigadier General Bashar Atiany, welcomed the visit of Governor Major General Dr. Kmeil, appreciating his ongoing support for the police force, and confirming continued efforts in fulfilling national and professional duties with full responsibility, despite the challenges and difficult circumstances faced by the governorate.
