New Attack by Settlers on the "Ein Samia" Water Station Northeast of Ramallah
SadaNews - A group of settlers stormed the main water wells station in the Ein Samia area, east of Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, on Saturday evening, physically assaulting the employees of the Jerusalem District Water Authority while they were at their work site and vandalizing the station’s contents, in a serious escalation targeting one of the most vital water sources in the region.
Local sources reported that more than 15 settlers attacked the station, destroyed its contents, and assaulted the staff of the authority, before occupation forces also stormed the area with several military vehicles.
The Jerusalem District Water Authority stated in a press release that these repeated and escalating attacks in recent days have led to the suspension of water pumping from the wells, depriving more than 100,000 citizens of their basic right to water, directly affecting more than 19 population centers that depend on these wells as their main supply source.
It noted that it is conducting intensive communications at the highest levels with various concerned parties to stop these repeated assaults, warning that their continuation poses a serious threat to water security and signals a worsening humanitarian crisis in the affected areas.
The Jerusalem District Water Authority renewed its call for urgent and immediate intervention to ensure the protection of water facilities and their staff, and to restart the wells and resume water pumping as soon as possible.
