Iraqi: We Are Ready to Reach a "Satisfactory" Agreement with Washington on Uranium Enrichment

SadaNews - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Saturday that his country is ready to reach a "satisfactory" agreement with Washington regarding uranium enrichment.

Araqi added that his country is committed to its right to continue enriching uranium, considering it a right of Iran that must persist.

Araqi stated, "At the moment, no specific date has been set for the second round of negotiations, but both we and Washington believe that these negotiations should take place soon."

Regarding the issue of Iranian missiles, Araqchi confirmed that this matter is "absolutely non-negotiable," adding that the missiles represent a purely defensive issue and cannot be brought to the negotiating table at any stage.

Araqi mentioned in a statement published by Iranian television on Saturday that the recent negotiations with the United States were "a good start," but the road remains long to build trust between Tehran and Washington.

He clarified that the negotiations with the United States in the capital Muscat yesterday were conducted indirectly and were limited solely to the nuclear file, confirming that both sides did not address any other files outside this framework.

Araqi pointed out that the continuation of dialogue depends on the willingness of both parties to address the differences, considering that the current negotiations represent a first step, but they do not mean reaching a final agreement at this time.

Araqi continued: "Washington returned to the negotiating table after having previously resorted to military attacks, which reflects the failure of pressure options."
