Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates: We are monitoring the targeted campaign against the ministry and its institutions and will pursue anyone behind it
SadaNews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated that it is closely following an organized campaign targeting the ministry and its embassies worldwide with slander and defamation. This campaign appears intermittently through fake pages on social media, aiming to tarnish the image of embassies and their ambassadors and undermine their national and personal standing. The ministry questions the purpose of this incitement campaign at a critical stage in the history of the Palestinian people, during which the Palestine Liberation Organization, its political forces, and all institutions and segments of Palestinian society, both domestically and abroad, are intensifying efforts to achieve the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, freedom, and independence. The ministry added in a statement this evening: "At a time when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is exerting its utmost efforts, through its embassies around the world, under the instructions of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, to develop external relations to elevate the Palestinian national cause, illuminate all its aspects in international political and diplomatic forums, and address opposing stances in this regard, in an effort to achieve Palestinian national goals, some suspicious voices are intensifying their targeting of the ministry and its embassies, undermining Palestinian diplomatic work." The ministry affirmed that it reserves its legal and moral right to defend itself, its embassies, and its staff, and will pursue those voices in judicial authorities. It also reiterated its pride and honor in all its staff at the headquarters and embassies, who have recorded shining pages in the political and diplomatic history of Palestine, under the leadership of President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, who have contributed to raising the level of diplomatic representation and garnered increased recognition of the State of Palestine to enhance its legal standing among the nations of the world. The ministry emphasized that all attempts to slander and incite against embassies and their staff will only strengthen its determination to continue the path of diplomatic work to achieve legitimate national goals.
