Israel agrees on Sunday to establish a new international airport in the Negev
SadaNews Translation - The Hebrew channel Reshet Kan reported on Wednesday evening that the Israeli government is expected to approve the establishment of a new international airport in the Negev next Sunday.
According to the channel, as translated by SadaNews, a proposal will be presented for decision on Sunday to determine the location of the first additional international airport in Israel.
It was indicated that an agreement has been reached to propose the decision between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Transportation Minister Miri Regev, and other government entities.
A joint statement said: "The establishment of an additional international airport is a national necessity due to the continuous increase in the number of flights to and from Israel, and the decision to establish the first airport in the south represents important news for the Israeli aviation sector, and even more so for the entire Negev region."
