NASA postpones first crewed lunar mission under the Artemis program due to cold weather
SadaNews - The U.S. space agency (NASA) has postponed the upcoming astronaut flight to the moon due to forecasts predicting temperatures dropping to near zero at the launch site.
The first crewed mission to the moon under the "Artemis" program is now scheduled for no later than February 8, delayed by two days from the original date, according to news agency "Associated Press."
NASA was poised to conduct the rocket fueling test for the lunar Artemis mission, measuring 322 feet (98 meters), tomorrow, Saturday, but canceled everything late yesterday, Thursday, due to the anticipated cold weather.
The date for the "crucial final test" has now been set for next Monday, weather permitting.
This change means that NASA has only three days in February to send four astronauts on a trip around the moon and back before the mission extends into March.
