Israel Threatens to Re-enter Gaza if Disarmament is Not Achieved
SadaNews - The Haaretz newspaper reported that Israeli officials confirmed that the continued status quo in the Gaza Strip without addressing the disarmament issue will compel Israel to re-enter the territory once again.
They explained that any acceleration in the reconstruction process without clear security guarantees would be considered a new threat to Israel.
The newspaper cited security sources stating that the agreement concerning Gaza still raises significant confusion, as it left sensitive unresolved issues, primarily the disarmament of Hamas and the extent of Israel's withdrawal from the area. These issues, according to the sources, will determine the future stability of the region.
Haaretz also noted that the Israeli army relied on estimates from the Gaza Ministry of Health, which indicate that around 70,000 Palestinians died during the recent war, clarifying that this number does not include the missing who are likely still under the rubble.
