The Fate of Netanyahu Between Trump's Strike on Iran and the Ballot Box
SadaNews: The Hebrew site Walla reported that officials in the Israeli Likud party said that the fate of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now directly linked to U.S. President Donald Trump's decision regarding Iran.
They explained that any U.S. attack aimed at overthrowing the Iranian regime would be considered a realization of Netanyahu's political dreams, as it would open the door for him to forge unprecedented agreements with Arab countries like Saudi Arabia and Syria, in addition to other countries that until recently were mere distant aspirations.
According to the sources, Washington's success in striking Iran would provide Netanyahu with the opportunity to celebrate politically at a regional level, enhancing his position as a leader capable of achieving strategic breakthroughs in regional relations. This scenario, according to Likud's assessments, would translate into significant domestic gains and solidify Netanyahu's position in power.
Conversely, if Trump decides not to carry out a military strike against Iran, this could lead to a rise in political disputes within Israel, placing Netanyahu in the face of increasing domestic challenges. Such a situation might push him to call for new elections in an attempt to solidify his position and reorganize his political cards.
