For the Second Time.. Israel Sprays "Unknown Substances" in Southern Syria
SadaNews - Israeli aircraft sprayed vast areas of agricultural land with unknown substances in the Quneitra countryside in southern Syria on Tuesday, marking the second such incident in a few days.
The Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported that "an occupation aircraft sprayed unknown materials on the land west of Abu Madhra Farm and the village of Al-Hanout in southern Quneitra."
The agency pointed out that Israeli aviation carried out a similar operation on Sunday, targeting agricultural areas and pastures in the villages of Al-Asha, Kudna, and Al-Asbah, as well as the town of Al-Rafid in the same governorate.
According to SANA, the directorates of agriculture and environment in Quneitra took samples from the sprayed lands to subject them to testing, while issuing warnings to farmers and livestock owners not to approach or graze in those areas until the analysis results are released.
The agency considered that Israel "continues its violations and breaches of the disengagement agreement of 1974, by infiltrating southern Syria, carrying out raids, arrests, and land leveling."
Syria affirmed that "all measures taken by Israel in southern Syria are void and null and do not produce any legal effect under international law," calling on the international community to "fulfill its responsibilities to deter occupation practices and compel it to fully withdraw from southern Syria."
